At Phoenix Family Center,LLC we are firm believers that many people can benefit greatly from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy or DBT. The skills that make up this therapeutic framework are straightforward and easy to learn and practice. We use them ourselves to help deal with the often stressful conditions of the modern word. We have a staff that is highly trained and experienced in DBT, and our Clinical Partner, Michelle Potter has trained extensively with Marcha at The Linehan Institute. The idea behind this page is (1) to help familiarize you with DBT, (2) to quickly show you some skills you can use right now to start to manage the chaos in your life, and (3) to do it in a brief format that will introduce you to the concepts, and allow you to pursue these in more detail with your counselor or therapist if you should choose to do so. In future videos the staff of Phoenix Family Center will guide you through different brief exercises that can help you in your day to day interactions.
